Neurodivergent-affirming

Some examples of neurodivergence include ADHD, autism, OCD, learning disabilities, and other neurological conditions.

In neurodivergent-affirming therapy, it is understood that there are many different types of minds and no one type of mind is better than another. However, some types of minds are able to function more efficiently in their given environment, while others require accommodation and support to be successful. In neurodivergent-affirming therapy, differences are not viewed as deficits that need to be “fixed”, rather we can acknowledge the differences, validate the challenges that arise from those differences, and find accommodations and support to help the individual thrive and build a life that is rich and meaningful.
